The Start of MLM

Nobody knows exactly when MLM began, because it really evolved over a number of years, prior to World War II. But how did it really start? Most observers agree that Nutrilite – now an Amway subsidiary – was the first true MLM Company.

But what really makes MLM an interesting business? Multi-level marketing (MLM), (also called network marketing) is a term that describes a marketing structure used by some companies as part of their overall marketing strategy.

The structure is designed to create a marketing and sales force by compensating promoters of company products not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of other promoters they introduced to the company, creating a downline of distributors and a hierarchy of multiple levels of compensation.

MLM's start

Independent, unsalaried salespeople of multi-level marketing, referred to as distributors (or associates, independent business owners, dealers, franchise owners, sales consultants, consultants, independent agents, etc.), represent the company that produces the products or provides the services they sell. They are awarded a commission based upon the volume of product sold through their own sales efforts as well as that of their downline organization

MLM businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 other countries, and new businesses may use terms like "affiliate marketing" or "home-based business franchising". However, many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as legitimate MLM businesses.

MLM (multilevel marketing) is an attractive business proposition to many people. MLM offers the opportunity to become involved in a system for distributing products to consumers. Unlike the person starting a business from scratch, the MLM participant has the support of a MLM company that supplies the products and sometimes offers training as well.

Criticism of MLMs is that "MLM organizations have been described by some as cults, pyramid schemes, or organizations rife with misleading, deceptive, and unethical behavior, such as the questionable use of evangelical discourse to promote the business, and the exploitation of personal relationships for financial gain.

Sucess with MLM

But then MLM companies are still the best business to venture with, especially for those who want to work in the comforts of their homes. And also, for those who would like to have the benefits that are being offered by an MLM company.

And MLM is an easy business to operate because MLM Programs has a small risk to get started, has a huge demand for good quality products, Residual income, income potential, No employees to hire, No inventory, Low operating Costs, Leverage (Because MLM Program is a people business, business of appointments, business of helping consumers find what they have the need for and business of helping others create businesses), Portability and The attainable freedom.

That's the dream every new MLM distributor chases and it is only attainable when there is a clear understanding of how to get there and when you’re marketing skills are sharp. It is not just the money, but the fulfillment of a lifestyle that makes an MLM Affiliate Program the best business to get in and your skills is what make it happen.
